The Rhinoceros or Rhinocerotidae is a herbivore that mainly lives in Asia and Southern Africa. The ecosystem it lives in is quite large, consisting of Savannah grasslands and woodlands. To the greatest extent, the rhinoceros feeds on buds, leaves, shoots of wood plants, and herbs living in its ecosystem.
The thick skin of a Rhinoceros(about 1-5 cm thick) is mainly for protecting it from sharp grasses and thorns that live in its ecosystem though it is quite sensitive to the sun. However, it spends most of its time in the mud to prevent this. The Rhinoceros also has a pointed upper lip that enables it to grasp their leafy foods.
5 Abiotic Factors:
- sand
- temperatures that can
go up to 50 degrees in rhino's ecosystem
- elevation
-grasslands
