The Praying Mantis, A.K.A Sphodromantis viridis, is an amazing arthropod. It has adapted to it's habitat well, as it's brown and green color help it to blend into the dry, brown ground, and the green shrubs and scarce grass. It also has spikes on it's legs to catch food easier. These allow the Praying Mantis to catch it's prey with ease. It is unknown the negative effects this amazing creature has on the environment, so I'll go with the positives. They are great garden defenders, as they eat garden killers. They hide in the grass, and catch prey that live within the grass.
