This is a Mountain Lion.

The Mountain Lion is a cousin of the African Lion. There are lots of different names for the Mountain Lion such as the Puma or Catamount. It is a large cat native to North and South America. The Mountain Lion or Puma Concolor lives on rocky brush covered mountains which are good for hunting and stalking. Most Mountain Lions are territorial and only live in very small "packs". The Mountain Lion is a carnivore so it eats meat such as deer, mule deer, white tailed deer, and moose. It also eats domestic cattle, bighorn sheep, and horses. In the northern part if its range it will hunt animals as small as insects and rodents like rats and mice. Even a big predator like the Mountain Lion also has some predators as well, such as the jaguar, gray wolf, the american black bear and the grizzly bear. This animal mostly likes to avoid humans but if you get to close be careful because most human attacks are rare. But this is still a very dangerous animal and human attacks have gone up in the last few years. This animal was extinct in Eastern North America in the beginning of the 20th century except for an isolated Florida panther subpopulatimages.jpegion. But in the recent years the Mountain Lions have been breeding in the western parts of the Dakotas. These cats are the most closely related to the domestic house cat more so than to any other cats such as lions or jaguars. Two of this cat's amazing adaptations is its ability to see in the dark and its keen eye sight
